"Finding A Writing Room was a gift to me from the universe. I am a new writer."

- Leslie, Writing Room Member

What would it feel like to finally show up for your writing the way you’ve always known you could? You don’t need another resolution. You need a system, a team, and the support to make it happen.

There’s a great myth about writing — that it’s something you’re supposed to do alone, secluded in a cabin, crafting your magnum opus in isolation. But the truth is, no great writer has ever done it all on their own.

Every writer you’ve ever admired had mentors, trusted confidants, and a supportive community to guide and challenge them. Writing isn’t just about inspiration — it’s about systems, tools, and the right environment to bring out your best.

It’s time to write like real writers do. It’s time to surround yourself with the people and practices that make progress inevitable. Book Camp will jumpstart your potential and remind you of the power of your words.

You’ve always been a writer — you just need the right system to bring your words to life.

How It Works: Focus & Accountability

Six weeks of guided discipline where your writing becomes your priority, your passion is ignited, and your progress soars.

"A Writing Room was life-changing and deeply healing. It was one of those experiences that feels perfect and leaves you completely fulfilled. I feel grateful and lucky to have been a part of it."

—Effie, Writing Room Member

Once a week for 6 weeks, join your fellow writers for a transformative gathering on Tuesday evenings at 4pm PST. Dive into shared inspiration, light mentoring, and tools to push you beyond your boundaries. Outside of these sessions, connect deeply with your accountability group daily, and draw strength from your group’s camaraderie.

Whether you’re just starting out or deep into your third draft, Book Camp is your invitation to produce more, dream bigger, and let nothing stand in your way.

Jump into the practice of writing in community.

Community, Focus & Discipline

Writing is often seen as a solitary act — but that’s a myth. Studies have shown that people are significantly more likely to achieve their goals when they’re part of a supportive group. Book Camp leverages the power of community, accountability, and discipline to help you write more than ever before.

A Curated Space For Serious Writers

If you're ready to take your writing seriously and finally make your ideas a reality, you've found your place. Although we take time to celebrate all the wins along the way, Book Camp is a committed period of time to make a commitment to your writing and see it through.

Built-In Accountability

Progress doesn’t happen in isolation. Every participant is paired with an accountability group for weekly video check-ins. These intimate interactions keep you grounded, motivated, and aligned with your goals.

The Power Of Small Teams

Beyond the larger community, you’ll collaborate with a small group of writers in a dedicated group chat. These intimate circles foster trust, camaraderie, and constructive feedback — pushing you further than you could go alone.

No Distractions, Just Results.

Book Camp is designed to eliminate excuses. Participants who don’t meet their writing goals are given the option to step out of the cohort. This ensures every writer is fully committed, creating an inspiring environment where discipline and progress reign supreme. By the end of these six weeks, you’ll not only see your word count soar, but you’ll feel the power of writing as part of a disciplined, driven community.

He's designed every facet of Book Camp with you in mind, ensuring each session is highly interactive and co-designed by you.

Claire Giovino

By deeply examining why we do (or do not) change, Claire is here to help you transform knowledge into action. After building a global agency that helps entrepreneurs identify their zone of genius, she now supports writers who want to turn their ideas into realities as co-founder of A Writing Room.

A former journalist, her work primarily explores the history and haunted corners of small towns, the magic and malice of the natural world, and power in all its forms. She loves to help writers level up their work, develop their understanding of the industry, and navigate the path to publication.

Mere supports and guides A Writing Room collective as Community Liaison. She leads Silent Writing sessions and small groups, teaches workshops, and facilitates the Short Stories & Flash Fiction Meetup. Frequently Asked Questions

Book Camp is a 6-week sprint — a focused period of time dedicated to the completion of one piece of writing.

You will redesign your calendar, make public commitments to your goal, and start writing alongside a dedicated cohort.

Each week is structured with one designated task to help keep your eyes on what you set out to accomplish, but the whole time, you will be writing.

You will get to select your own specific goal but we recommend a minimum of 10,000 words written by the end of Book Camp.
Book Camp is for writers of all genres and skill levels who are ready to commit to one specific writing goal for a 6-week period.

Whether you’re just starting a manuscript or have been working on a long-term project, this program is designed to help you prioritize your writing and achieve measurable progress.
This program is for dedicated participants only. If you’re unable to meet your minimum writing requirements each week, we encourage you to step down from the process if now is not the time to complete your writing goal.

This commitment ensures the group remains focused and motivated. You are still welcome to attend meetings and small groups to support your cohort, however the only members who complete their weekly goal will be able to share on an ongoing basis.

Remember, the most important part of this process is keeping the promise you make to yourself. Public accountability will help keep you on track, but only you will know if you've completed your writing goals so stay honest with your cohort about where you're at.
Yes, attendance is essential to get the full benefit of the program.

If you’re unable to commit to the weekly Tuesday evening gatherings (4pm PST), we recommend waiting for a future Book Camp cohort when your schedule allows.

Replays to the 6 main sessions will be available as replays, but no replays will be available for small group gatherings.

Momentum builds best by attending sessions live alongside other writers, so consider restucturing your schedule (if possible) to get the most out of this process.
Book Camp itself normally costs $299, but is included for Writing Room members.

You can purchase a ticket to Book Camp 2026 only for $299.
You'll meet with the entire cohort once a week for 6 weeks.

You'll also meet with your dedicated small group on a daily and weekly basis if you sign up by 1/31, and members will have the option to be matched with their own accountability partner.
Book Camp 2026 will be a completely online program so that members from around the world can join.

Future cohorts may offer an optional hybrid beta test for in-person participants at our headquarters in San Francisco.
We do not offer refunds, however you can always cancel your Writing Room membership before the next annual billing cycle.

Signing up for a year-long writing program can feel like a huge step, but after decades of working with writers, we've found an annual commitment consistently produces the best results, both in your daily writing habit and publication goals.

By committing to a year, you remove the decision of whether or not to focus on your writing, and instead say a resounding "YES" to making your idea a reality. And if life surprises you with an extra busy month (or two), you'll still have several months left to get back on track.

Signing up for the annual program also means you won’t have to deal with monthly renewals that make you question your commitment, distracting you from your writing goals. You can focus on what truly matters — your craft.

Review our full policy at awritingroom.com/terms/

Sign up for Book Camp by purchasing an annual membership to A Writing Room (here), then RSVP to each Book Camp event in "Event Gatherings."

Spots for Book Camp are limited and enrollment ends January 31st. If you haven't enrolled by January 31st, you will need to wait for the next cohort.

Replays are available for the main group sessions only. Small groups meetings will not be recorded.

Absolutely! This program is designed for you, but co-created with other members. We are constantly improving our offerings to make them even more impactful for members, so we always welcome your suggestions and ideas, which we regularly implement.
