Square 1 at A Writing Room's event space combines industrial character with modern amenities. With 2500 square feet of open, flexible space, we provide the perfect canvas for company offsites, live recordings, workshops, and creative events.

Frequently Asked Questions

We recommend booking at least 2-4 weeks in advance for best availability, especially for weekend dates. However, we can often accommodate last-minute requests depending on our schedule. Contact us to check availability for your preferred dates.
Cancellations made 14 days or more before your event will receive a full refund minus a 10% administrative fee. Cancellations within 14 days are non-refundable. Rescheduling is always free if done at least 7 days in advance and subject to availability.
Yes, if your event runs over the booked time, overtime is billed in 30-minute increments at a prorated hourly rate based on your original booking tier. We'll always check with you before overtime begins.
A standard cleaning fee of $100 is included in all bookings. If additional deep cleaning is required after your event, an extra fee may apply. We'll discuss this with you if needed.
Yes, we require a $500 refundable security deposit for all bookings. This is returned within 7 business days after your event, provided there is no damage to the space or equipment. Normal wear and tear is expected and not charged.
Yes! You're welcome to bring in outside catering from any licensed caterer. We can also help coordinate with caterers we've worked with before. Our kitchenette is available for food prep and service.
No, alcohol is not permitted in the space. We're happy to provide non-alcoholic beverages and can recommend nearby venues if your event requires alcohol service.
Street parking is available on 8th Street and surrounding blocks. There are both metered spots and unmetered residential parking. We recommend arriving a few minutes early to allow time to find parking. The nearest parking garage is about 2 blocks away.
Our building has a freight elevator accessible from the rear entrance. You can reserve time for load-in before your event and load-out after. The elevator can accommodate large equipment and multiple trips. We'll provide detailed access instructions when you book.
Absolutely! We encourage site visits. Tours are by appointment only. Contact us to schedule a walkthrough at a time that works for you.
